Thank you for enrolling your child in the Kindermusik program at Mountain Opus School of Music! Over the next few weeks, you and your child will get to experience music in many different way through exploring and playing with instruments, dancing, singing, listening, and much much more! As Kindermusik educators and music advocates, we are thrilled to offer you this wonderful program and hope to instill a life-long love and appreciation of music!
Role of Educator:
Your licensed Kindermusik educators are knowledgeable and professional individuals who are committed to providing a quality program to you and your family.
Role of Parent:
Since we consider parents to be a child’s #1 teacher, it is important that parents participate fully in activities and explore the @Home materials with students over the course of the week. Please leave your cell phones off during class! This will ensure that your child gets the most out of each class and will also help them to socialize and interact with other students!
Kindermusik Whole Child Concept:
We believe that genuine learning takes place when the “whole child” is targeted. This means that during each Kindermusik class, activities are based around different areas of child development (cognitive, physical, emotional, social). Because Kindermusik is developmentally based (not just based on age) it is easy to move between classes based on your child’s abilities.
Your child will have a blast while expanding their existing skills and developing new ones!
Happy, Healthy Classroom procedures
Instruments and materials are cleaned and sanitized regularly. Bathrooms are available with soap, hand sanitizer, and wet wipes for families to use. Families with infant siblings are always welcome and mothers can feel safe to nurse their child wherever they feel comfortable.
Please be considerate of the teacher and other families – if you or your child is sick, please stay home and get well! No fever or vomiting for 24 hours prior to returning to class! There are no refunds for sick days. If the teacher is unable to attend class, a makeup class will be scheduled.
For the safety of the babies, older siblings will not be permitted in the Sing & Play and Cuddle & Bounce classes.
A 15% sibling discount is available when you sign up for a 3 month session.
Your enrollment holds your space in Kindermusik for the session you registered for. Fees can be paid with a post-dated cheque or cash and are due on or before the first of each month. Please be diligent with your payments. Failure to pay on time could result in late fee of $3 a day for each day your payment is late.
If you are unsatisfied or have to withdraw from the program, please let your educator know AT LEAST 1 week prior to the beginning of the next month and you will be given a withdrawal form. If your notice of withdrawal is more than a week in advance you will be refunded your remaining balance. If it is made less than a week before the end of the month, no refund will be given.
We will be running at Unit 2 661 2ndAve (the old Ghostrider shoe store next to the old Clawhammer). Because we are sharing a space with a retail business, we ask that our families be respectful of the space. Please no loitering, running, horseplay or outdoor voices in the hallway.
There will be a designated area for coats and shoes. We ask that families use these areas in order to keep clutter at a minimum.
Please be on time! This will keep noise and traffic through the main hallway at a minimum. If you are returning to a class for a sharing time please be prompt.
**Please note: policy is subject to change based on our needs, the needs of the space, and the needs of our families!
